Earlier this afternoon, Financial Aid sent an official notice email to BYU-Idaho students and faculty regarding a new financial aid software product that was implemented over the summer.
“Unfortunately, several issues were found,” University Relations relayed in the email. “While many of these issues have already been resolved, the Financial Aid Office continues to work diligently with its software provider to ensure the system becomes fully operational.”
Ben Packer, managing director of Student Services, explained the financial aid delay to the Scroll in an article written last October.
The email explained that these technical challenges have mostly affected students who registered for summer session and are currently enrolled for this semester, as well as those who received multiple scholarships or changed their majors mid-semester.
The email explained that until all software issues are resolved, the university is advancing aid to any student that requests it.
