A student was hit by a car and rushed to Madison Memorial Hospital with head injuries Thursday evening, on April 19.
According to a police report, the student was walking in a marked crosswalk on Second South when a Rexburg resident struck the individual where Madison County EMS and the Rexburg police arrived on scene. The student suffered head injuries and was transported by ambulance to the hospital. The victim was then transferred to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
The driver of the vehicle was issued a misdemeanor citation and mandatory court date for violating Idaho Code 49-
1401(3); Inattentive Driving. They also were issued an infraction citation for failure to carry proof of insurance and registration.
