The tutoring center is a great way for students to make sure they are on the right track with their studies. Even though students are settling into their schedules and other responsibilities, the tutoring center is useful for any student. Whether you are thriving or starting to get bogged down with studies, the tutoring center can help you be successful.
“It’s good to have another person that can help you out instead of just reading out of the book yourself. And tell you positive things that can reinforce what you know already. Everyone should give it a try, it’s worth your time,” said Emily Schauerhamer.
Tutors are chosen from the students who have succeeded academically in the class, who have completed a tutor training program, and who have been approved by their department.
“Ah it’s awesome, like whenever I see students understanding some principle in math that I teach, I feel really good. And I’m learning a lot from them to,” said Jungwon Oh. “As you discuss the principle with the tutors you can better understand, and you can review for your classes you are taking, and that really motivates students to go further.”
You can find the tutoring center on the 2
nd floor in the David O. McKay Library. Tutoring is free of charge to all students, however if you don’t show , there will be a fee.
“Tutors are great, tutors are always good. Their there to help, and you feel awesome whenever you can get help and you can understand things. The whole process is easy and it helps you with anything. It’s all ecstatic, there’s nothing that isn’t awesome about right over there,” said Gage Ritter.
