Scroll exists to represent the BYU-Idaho student voice and share goodness. We invite you to be a part of it through sharing your work.
Types of submissions we accept:
- Fictional short stories
- Narrative non-fiction
- Poetry
- Feature-style articles
- Narrative short films
- Documentary short films
- Photo series
For video or photo material, we ask that you share a Google Drive folder or YouTube link containing all the material.
Submissions we do not accept:
- Press releases (see our News Tips page)
- Opinion articles
- Music videos
- Business promotions (see our Advertising page)
- Project case studies
- Research papers
Before submitting, make sure your work meets the following guidelines:
- Your submission does not contain any material contrary to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or the BYU-Idaho Honor Code.
- Your work is free from grammatical errors.
- Your work is free of plagiarism, meaning that you are the sole author of this work. This includes that your work was not generated or assisted by generative AI tools.
- Your work was not produced for promotional or commercial purposes. This includes material about local businesses or organizations that would benefit from news coverage, or work completed as part of a paid work assignment.
If your work is selected for publication, a member of the editorial staff will contact you prior to publication to inform you, and ask clarifying questions as needed.
