The soda shop with locations in 14 states, Swig, is adding a shop in Rexburg, Idaho.

Rexburg's Swig plans to open May 15, but could open a few days early, said owner Jim McSpadden.

"We will be better priced and make a better drink than any soda shop in Rexburg," McSpadden said.

Swig will host its grand opening June 6 and 7, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

At the grand opening, Swig will give away free 24-ounce drinks and a cup of chocolate chip cookies.

Swig will open its new location at 279 N. Second E., next to the new Nitro gas station.

On regular days, aside from the grand opening, Swig will sell tumblers that provide customers 5% off each time they fill it for their Swig order.

Swig currently has five Idaho locations and Rexburg will make six.

"BYUI ​has ​a ​lot ​to ​do ​with ​it. ​There's ​a ​lot ​of ​students ​there ​and ​a ​​lot ​of ​them ​have ​been ​to ​Utah so they know what Swig is, so we decided ​to, ​you ​know, ​go ​to Rexburg next," McSpadden said.

Swig will soon be coming to Eagle, Meridian, Idaho Falls, and Pocatello, according to McSpadden.

"Swig ​has ​a ​very ​specific methodology ​behind ​what ​goes ​into ​the ​drinks, " McSpadden said. "​And ​we ​have ​a ​much ​broader ​menu."

McSpadden said the secret Swig methodology is what makes their drinks so good.

Aside from drinks, Swig also sells pretzel bites and cookies.
