The heavy, gray, sound-muffling apartment curtains had been peeled back, and the balcony door stood wide open. Four speakers filled the small apartment space with music as Track Club.mp3 rehearsed.
The music cut through their first-floor apartment, past the Cedars apartments across from the BYUI stadium, and onto the street. Passersby could hear the music and feel the bass in their chests as they walked by. Track Club.mp3 was preparing to take the stage at the Dunes show on June 27th.
Roman Iurato, the group's singer, helped piece the group together after watching Marcus Raddon and Preston Coover play together for multiple years. While Raddon, the lead guitarist, and Iurato, the bassist, already knew each other, Andrew Davis was a friend of the band and a perfect addition as their drummer.

“We do a lot of performing. We play a lot of the local venues.” Iurato said.
One of those venues included a concert at Fizz Rizz. It was the Halloween show, and the place was packed, Coover explained. After selling over 300 tickets, they were able to enjoy the crowd's energy and perform for fans.
Coover chimed in: “It was like a huge freaking crowd [and] we played the Dune show last year … and we're playing this one again this year too.”
The concert at the Dunes is composed of several local bands. Including Anyone Awake and The Stone Popes, Track Club.mp3 was happy to join the lineup. Blank recalled how the bands had met.
At Track Club.mp3’s first-ever Dunes show, the lead singer of the Stone Popes found himself impressed with their music and reached out. Since then, they have been friends and even found themselves playing alongside the lead singer of Anyone Awake. Now the three bands play local venues together from time to time.
“I feel like a lot of bands are just musicians that get together, but we're a band of just friends that get together,” Coover said. “We're friends first and musicians second."
Marcus had helped Iurato get his feet under him when it came to learning instruments. He explained that Marcus had been the one to encourage him to learn the guitar and put his music production knowledge to use.
Iurato said, “I always loved music, but I'd always loved the producing and production side of it, and then he was like, you can play instruments, and then I did.”
For this group of musicians, they found themselves playing for several hours multiple nights a week. They joked about the women's Cedars apartments hating them as well.
"This whole side of the women's Cedars [apartments] hated us; they really hated us just because the drums were so bad," Coover said.
Andrew, the group's drummer, would spend late nights practicing with the door wide open. He had only begun drumming a couple of years ago, which led him to constantly practice.
“We used to play at like 1 a.m., " Iurato said. “We don't play like a lot anymore, to where we were just loud and like jamming, but we used to.”
The band was able to drop their first single, A Beautiful Picture of a Horse, and they say the band leaned towards garage-style rock with a fifth-wave feel.

"I'd say the most cohesive sound would be like alt-rock, or even like fifth-wave stuff. I would say trashy, garbage garage rock." Iurato said
Coover agreed, "It sounds like it's low quality, low fidelity."
As Track Club.mp3 continues to create new music, the band prepares for the next concert at the Dunes.
