Rick Merrill, owner of Mainstreet Diamonds, has been a part of the Rexburg Community since 1985. He purchased the existing jewelry store that year and has been making it a priority to establish good connections with the people in this town.

"I always knew I wanted to own my own business," said Merrill. "I've loved working with my hands, creating, and making jewelry."

The mural on the side of the store was made by Merrill’s son, Cleat.

"Locals know him as 'Uncle Frank,'” Merrill said.

The reason for this nickname is because they like to treat everyone as if they are a part of the family.

Alpine Jewelers was co-founded by Scott Noble, Kevin Panter and their wives. Their Rexburg establishment came to be in 2008.

The roots of their business start with a Christmas kiosk in the mall selling holiday figurines.

"We called it Alpine Collectibles, and when we transitioned into jewelry, we kept the Alpine name," said Noble.

If you need a budget-friendly venue, you can always check in with your local bishop about reserving a cultural hall with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It may not have a winding staircase, classic architecture or fancy chandeliers, but it does come with free tables, folding chairs, and basketball hoops!
